Undergraduate Programs

The undergraduate programs in finance provide students with a grounded knowledge in the operation and functioning of the world's financial and economic systems that they will utilise throughout their careers. Fields that graduates commonly are employed include accounting, financial services, general business management and economics. There are excellent employment opportunities within the corporate and government sectors. Employers include retail and merchant banks, investment firms, stockbroking houses, financial consultancy firms, private and public corporations, and government regulatory authorities including Departments of Treasury and Finance.

Degrees
There are several choices available for pursuing an undergraduate degree in the field of Finance. This includes a Bachelor of Commerce (Corporate Finance) which focuses on finance and allows students to obtain a double pathway in accounting, a general Bachelor of Finance degree which maximises flexibility and a Bachelor of Finance (International) that focuses on international trade and finance.

Honours
The Honours degree in Finance is available to the most outstanding students within the Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Finance degrees who have focussed their studies in the field of finance. Honours graduates are most highly sought after by employers as they represent the most successful graduates from an undergraduate program. The Honours program provides students with an in depth educational experience beyond that of undergraduate programs.

Ps146
Compliance with Policy Statement 146 is a legislated requirement enforced by ASIC for people involved in giving financial advice. As such compliance in this area is often considered as being a desirable quality of graduates by employers. Please see accreditation for further information.

Double Degrees
A number of double degrees are also available specifically with the Bachelor of Finance. A double degree is an excellent opportunity to enhance the academic experience and career prospects of students. Double degrees can usually be completed within four to five years provided students follow prescribed pathways.
