Admission

Admission into the honours finance program is highly competitive. Typically a distinction average across finance courses is required for admission into the program. For a list of third year finance courses that are considered please see Finance Courses.

Admission into the honours program is also subject to the availability of academic staff that can act as a supervisor for a student. Interested students are encouraged to think of a number of possible research areas that are of interest before applying for admission to Honours in finance program. For a list of topics that academic staff can supervise please see What is Honours.

Students interested in applying for the honours in finance program and any scholarship/studentship* should submit the following application information in writing to:

Application information

A) Submit a cover letter outlining:
     i) What research interests you have in financial markets?
        - please provide at least three areas of interest
    ii)  Why you are interested in the scholarship/studentship*?
B) A Current Resume.
C) A transcript of your grades.

 *All applicants are automatically assessed for available internal scholarships. Applicants seeking a  School of Commerce studentship should outline why they are interested in the position.
